Tulsa is small; it seems that somehow everyone knows everyone. When I was younger and attended church with my mom, Drew was heavily involved with leadership in the youth group. Kristina was a dear friend of one of my high school friends, yet I would have never imagined the two worlds colliding. Drew has a deep history with his past marriage that has been a beacon of light and a healing story for all who have encountered him. When he met Kristina at First Baptist Jenks, everything changed. A few years later, they reached out to me to photograph their wedding; what an exciting request, I felt truly honored!
This beautiful wedding happened just days, perhaps only a week, before covid19 shut most everything down. It was full of spring blossoms on the trees, and mild, breezy, beautiful weather. The day was absolutely beautiful, with an attendance of almost their entire church (over 300 people!) for the ceremony, followed by a gorgeous and easy-going reception at Tulsa’s Camp Loughridge.
I’m so beyond thankful and honored to have played a role, no matter how big or small, in their unique love story. I’m excited to see how they, and their family and friends, celebrate and remember this special day through my photographs for the rest of their lives!
